Leadership and Management:

Growth and New Business:

  • Gauge client satisfaction and address concerns to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Operational:

  • Oversee the workshop to ensure work is completed efficiently and effectively, with a focus on cost management and timely delivery.
  • Lead the reverse engineering process to design and manufacture parts and components in-house, driving security of supply and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Set up and oversee the manufacturing arm of the business, including the production of casing, drill rods, adaptors, and components used in repair processes.
  • Oversee sales teams to ensure continued growth in third-party sales.

Project Management:

  • Plan and execute special/new projects, managing budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Technical Expertise:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team on complex engineering issues.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and quality control measures.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Analyze system performance and recommend enhancements to improve business outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and efficiency within the team.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, including equipment and supply expenditures.
  • Optimize resource allocation and manage inventory of mechanical parts and tools.

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in engineering and management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and budgeting.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in mechanical operations.
