As an Engineering Specialist at Jobs2day's Gqeberha Manufacturing site, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving machinery and equipment on packaging lines.

The key areas of responsibility include:

  1. Maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  2. Improvement of machine efficiency and overall equipment efficiency.
  3. Budgetary contribution to departmental and line maintenance.
  4. Optimisation of spares usage and associated costs.
  5. Leadership and management of personnel.
  6. Performance management of staff.
  7. Health and Safety oversight.
  8. Project coordination for shuts and smaller packaging line-related projects.
  9. Implementation of E2 (World class) practices - 5S, VM, TW, FI, with emphasis on Asset Care (AC).
  10. Effective management of job cards in conjunction with the Planning office.
  11. Service Level Agreement adherence with Packaging.
  12. Audit and implementation of process control programmes according to ISO procedure.
  13. Line performance optimisation through coordinated machine output. Active participation in MBA/DCS Operating System activities.
  14. Administrative task execution.
  15. Training and coaching of Production controllers, Artisans, Machine controllers, and operators.

The successful candidate must have:

  • A recognised N6 Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Certificate and trade test certificate.
  • Knowledge of bottling equipment, workshop, and engineering practices, tools, and apparatus.
  • Minimum 5 years practical experience.
  • 3 years experience in managing a team.
  • Knowledge of packaging/bottling equipment.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations regarding tools.
  • FMCG experience will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of all workshop/engineering tools, machines, apparatus, and materials.
  • Computer literacy, SAP, MS Word & MS Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
