Role Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Qualified Accountant to join our finance team at Midvaal Recruitment.

About the Role: As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing year-end financial statements, managing tax compliance, and handling VAT matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Year-End Financials:
  • Prepare and review year-end financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with financial reporting requirements.
  • Sign off on financial statements and liaise with external auditors during the audit process.
Tax Compliance:
  • Prepare and submit corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Provide tax planning and advisory services to optimize tax liabilities.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
VAT Management:
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and maintain proper documentation.
  • Provide guidance on VAT-related queries and assist in VAT audits.
Financial Analysis:
  • Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other departments to gather necessary financial information.
  • Provide support and training to junior staff as needed.

Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will require a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, alongside a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA). A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on year-end financials, tax, and VAT, is also essential.
