At The Talent Room, we are looking to appoint a highly skilled Claims Assessor to join our team.

About the Role

The objective of this position is to assess and process claims efficiently, ensuring effective productivity and client services.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluating claims and making recommendations for approval or denial.
  2. Processing claims, updating benefits and limits as necessary.
  3. Meeting productivity targets for claim assessments on Novus.
  4. Providing excellent customer care, responding to service provider queries and correspondence with stakeholders.
  5. Performing ad-hoc tasks assigned by management.
  6. Maintaining confidentiality and security when handling sensitive information in accordance with POPIA and the client's policies.
Requirements:
  1. Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  2. Mathematics Grade 12.
  3. Proficiency in computer applications.
  4. Previous experience in the medical aid or insurance industry is an advantage.
  5. Experience with ICD10 codes is preferred, as well as a medical background.
  6. Ability to capture high volumes of data accurately.
  7. Debtors experience is beneficial.
  8. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  9. Effective organizing and coordinating skills.
  10. Confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
