Job Description

The role of the Maintenance Operations Manager is to oversee the efficient management of factory maintenance activities. This includes ensuring that all machinery is in good working order, and that any necessary repairs or replacements are carried out in a timely manner.

In this position, you will be responsible for managing the planned maintenance schedule, coordinating with workshop staff to ensure that tasks are completed on time, and monitoring the execution of calibration by external contractors. You will also be responsible for conducting daily machine set-up to meet production requirements, managing job cards, and attending to breakdowns, fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repairs.

Additionally, you will be required to update job cards, including all relevant information, and close out. You will also be responsible for updating relevant maintenance Excel spreadsheets, completing reports, and supporting the optimisation of production through electrical modification of machinery. Furthermore, you will manage spares inventory and liaise with the Maintenance Manager to advise on any spares required.

You will be responsible for general building maintenance (electrical and mechanical), assisting with the treatment of effluent to ensure compliance with municipal requirements, and acting as Health & Safety Representative, part of the Health & Safety team. You will also support the Spill Team responsible for correctly containing any spill / contamination.

Key performance areas include managing the factory planned maintenance schedule, ensuring efficient co-ordination and record keeping of all workshop maintenance activities, giving input into the development of planned maintenance improvements, and ensuring adherence to planned electrical and mechanical maintenance. You will also monitor and support the execution of calibration by external contractors, conducting daily machine set-up to meet production requirements, managing job cards, and attending to breakdowns, fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repairs.
