Job Title: Graduate Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Civil Engineer to join our team at Royal Haskoning DHV. As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing hydraulic infrastructure, including bulk pipeline and pipe network design, sewer and stormwater network design, and water and wastewater treatment plant hydraulic design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop hydraulic infrastructure, including bulk pipeline and pipe network design, sewer and stormwater network design, and water and wastewater treatment plant hydraulic design.
  • Assist in the construction monitoring process to ensure projects remain within budget and comply with specifications.
  • Assist with monthly cashflows and progress reports, compiling daily measurements on site and submitting them to the Resident Engineer in a timely manner.
  • Report to the Resident Engineer and liaise with subcontractors, assisting with contract administration duties and minutes taking.
  • Measure and prepare monthly progress payment certificates, submitting final drafts to the Resident Engineer.
  • Adhere to quality management and quality control procedures, using the project-related CDE and coordinating with the Documents Controller to ensure accurate capture and issuance.
  • Keep a daily diary of construction activities and progress, assisting with the preparation of monthly progress reports.
  • Compile as-built drawings continuously, prior to approving the portion of works to ensure adherence to designs and inform the Contracts Engineer of any deviations.
  • Capture testing requirements as per the QMS on the CDE and summarize results, ensuring any deviations are brought to the Resident Engineer's attention.
Requirements:
  • Minimum required qualification: Eng/B.Sc. Civil Engineering
  • Candidate registration with ECSA preferred
  • Minimum experience, knowledge, and skills:
    • Computational design and site thinking
    • Experience with pipeline and pipe network modelling, analysis, and design for pressure and gravity networks
    • BASIC understanding of Process Flow Diagrams and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams
    • Strong multi-disciplinary coordination skills
    • BASIC knowledge of pump station design will be advantageous
