Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Management Specialist to join our team at Isilumko Staffing (JHB). As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental health on our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement SHE Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain effective SHE policies and procedures specific to the activities on site. This includes conducting thorough risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, and implementing measures to mitigate them.
  2. Factory and Site Inspections: Conduct regular factory and site inspections to identify areas of improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommendations for improvement.
  3. Auditing and Reporting: Perform regular audits to assess the effectiveness of SHE policies and procedures in place. Prepare and submit detailed reports to management highlighting areas of concern and suggesting corrective actions.
  4. Training and Awareness: Design and deliver training programs to raise awareness among site staff on SHE best practices and company policies. Ensure that all personnel understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe working environment.
  5. Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry.
  • Possess SAMTRAC certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
