**Job Title:** Procurement Officer

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer to join our team at Merand Corbett & Associates. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for requesting quotations and ordering materials from approved suppliers to meet the company's demand.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Procurement of Materials: Request quotations and order materials from approved suppliers to meet the company's demand.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain acceptable levels of materials and accurate documentation on the ERP.
  • Purchase Orders: Timely creation and submission of Purchase Orders for approval via the ERP.
  • Supplier Evaluations: Complete external provider evaluations to ensure compliance with AS9100.
  • Incoming Inspections: Conduct incoming inspections once material has arrived.
  • ERP Management: Capture purchased stock and materials on the ERP.
  • Supplier Communication: Address supplier queries promptly and efficiently.
  • Progress Updates: Communicate progress from vendors and suppliers to team members and managers.
  • Supplier Information: Maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times product ranges, etc.
  • Company Compliance: Comply with current company procurement procedures and policies.

**Requirements:**

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Purchasing; or equivalent; or suitable experience in excess of 10 years.
  • Skills and Experience: 2-5 years of relevant industry experience - Technical Buyers with focus on electronic and mechanical components ideal.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel etc).
  • Administrative Skills: Excellent administrative & organisational skills.
  • Planning and Coordination Skills: Excellent planning & coordinating skills.
  • Communication and Negotiation Skills: Strong communication and negotiations skills.
  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking Skills: Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Material Requirement Planning: A good understanding of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and potential issues.
  • Proactive Approach: Pro-active approach to own and manage technical query processes between supplier and engineers.

Recommended Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in procurement of Electronic components;
  • Experience in coordinating international shipping from suppliers;
  • Familiar with ERP systems;

General Skills:

  • Ability to learn quickly and absorb new information rapidly;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate on large projects;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • High standard of communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
