The Role

iOCO is seeking an experienced Network Engineer with a focus on Security, particularly with expertise in Fortinet technologies, to join our team in Cape Town for a 6-month contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure with a primary focus on security using Fortinet products and solutions.
  • Implement and manage firewall policies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security measures to protect the company's network from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network security-related issues and incidents promptly.
  • Monitor network performance and security, ensuring optimal operation and adherence to security best practices.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of security solutions within the network infrastructure.
  • Perform regular security audits and assessments to identify potential risks and implement necessary improvements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in network engineering, with a strong emphasis on security technologies, specifically Fortinet.
  • Strong experience and proficiency in Fortinet products, including FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiAuthenticator, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
  • Solid understanding of network security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with different teams and stakeholders effectively.
