The Role

We are currently seeking a talented Senior Engineer – Bridges & Structures to work closely with our other specialists in our South African offices. Your primary focus will be to provide technical input, coordination, and project delivery activities across transport infrastructure projects in collaboration with the wider national business.

With a minimum of 8+ years' experience delivering on major infrastructure projects, you will play a key role in:

  • Ensuring that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC.
  • Collaborating with appropriate team members, contributors, and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness, and coordination of project deliverables.
  • Contributing to the commercial success of projects and the team.
  • Applying project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplishing project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner.

With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification / Engineering degree.
  • Certified Professional Engineer or on their way to attaining.
  • 8+ years of industry experience in civil/structural design.
  • Structural design experience across Bridge structure projects.
  • Proven detailed design skills across multiple projects.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment.
