We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Cape Town. This role will play a critical part in supporting our T&T business, working closely with our infrastructure division.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned quantity surveyor to lead our cost management efforts on complex projects. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing expert cost planning, estimating, and control services to our clients.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project cost plans, estimates, and forecasts to ensure accurate budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Lead negotiations with contractors and subcontractors to secure fair contract prices and drive value engineering exercises.
  • Collaborate with design teams to develop detailed designs and assess construction costs, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
  • Manage post-contract cost variances, change control processes, and cost auditing activities to maintain high-quality deliverables.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive cost reports to stakeholders, including monthly progress updates and final account negotiations.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to knowledge sharing across the organization.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (e.g., SACQSP) with 10+ years of experience in real estate or construction environments.
  • Demonstrable expertise in cost management, estimating, and QS services, particularly in large-scale projects.
  • Strong technical skills in project management, planning, risk, and investment processes.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, leading and mentoring teams as required.
