Technical Expertise:

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to lead our Railway Civil Design team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating project teams, performing technical tasks, and providing specialized input into studies and design work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate small to mid-size project teams of discipline-led engineers.
  • Perform specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment as an experienced engineer.
  • Provide technical input into studies and design work, identifying discrepancies in results.
  • Develop designs by gathering, correlating, and analyzing engineering data using computer software and established procedures and standards.
  • Follow existing or develop design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work.
  • Participate in and create interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables, including BIM spatial reviews.
  • Gather and correlate engineering data using established procedures.
  • Prepare technical specifications.
  • Perform work under the agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Solve problems encountered using knowledge, innovation, and modifications of standard procedures.
  • Contribute to the area of expertise, providing proposed improvements to existing processes.
  • Perform technical quality reviews of design calculations, BIM models, and drawings.

Client Relationship Management:

Begins to build and maintain client relationships, attending client meetings as technical support. Participates in the development and preparation of bids and proposals, presenting solutions to clients in a professional and technically competent manner.

Project Management:

  • May be required to act as Project Manager on small to medium-size discipline-specific projects.
  • Has an excellent understanding of project delivery requirements and is well-versed with AECOM's project delivery procedures.
  • Should be well-versed in the use of Earned Value Management to assess the progress of design against budget.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years' relevant experience after obtaining a Bachelor of Science or Engineering from an accredited University.
  • Master of Science or Engineering preferred.
  • Professionally registered as an Engineer with ECSA.
