Job Description

The purpose of this role is to drive and execute the capital projects procurement plan. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing appropriate tender specifications and terms of references.
  2. Overseeing bid processes, including compiling bid documents and advertisements, publishing bid documents, receiving and processing bid documents, and preparing monthly and quarterly procurement progress reports.
  3. Supporting risk management and audit processes by implementing action plans and providing evidence as required through RFIs.

In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Managing a skilled and motivated acquisition team to optimize value to FACT Sa in the achievement of divisional and organizational objectives.
  2. Participating in established committees and forums.
  3. Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including DWS, DTIC, CIDB, National Treasury, industry associations, etc.
  4. Implementing Supplier and Enterprise Development initiatives through the build programme.

Requirements

  • Honours degree or equivalent in Commerce, Built Environment, Law, Supply Chain and Logistics.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in procuring infrastructure-related projects, with at least 3 mega projects contracts (construction) procured and managed until contract closeout.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in people management, preferably managing a team of specialists.
  • Knowledge of various forms of contract such as FIDIC, NEC3, JBCC.
  • Knowledge of various contracting strategies applicable in engineering and construction works.
