Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Temporary Financial Controller to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. As the primary financial expert, you will be responsible for overseeing daily financial operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Operations: Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions, manage cash flow, and prepare forecasts.
  • Closing Process: Oversee month-end closing, including preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Analytical Skills: Analyze financial performance, highlighting trends and providing actionable insights to leadership.
  • Accounts Management: Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Liaison: Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Process Improvement: Support the implementation of financial process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (BCom).

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a financial management role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar) and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.

Skills:

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
