Job Description

The Business Financial Controller will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our company. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with IFRS and GAAP principles;
  • Assisting in the development and preparation of annual budgets and forecasts;
  • Monitoring and analyzing actual performance against the budget, providing detailed variance analysis;
  • Collaborating with department heads to establish and maintain effective budgetary controls;
  • Coordinating and supporting internal and external audits;
  • Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and relevant financial legislation;
  • Maintaining organized and accurate financial records to ensure audit readiness;
  • Tracking and analyzing costs associated with bus operations, maintenance, and administration;
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies;
  • Providing financial insights that aid in informed decision-making;
  • Overseeing the management of accounts payable and receivable functions;
  • Reconciling bank statements and managing cash flow;
  • Performing detailed financial analysis to guide business decisions and strategic initiatives;
  • Developing financial models to assess investment opportunities and project potential outcomes;
  • Ddelivering regular financial insights and reports to management, ensuring informed decision-making;
  • Presenting financial results and insights to senior management;


Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis;
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards;
  • Advanced Excel skills;
  • Effective communication and presentation skills;
  • Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles;
  • Relevant Finance or Accounting degree;
  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
