A leading Chemicals company is seeking a Group Category Manager - Chemical Materials to be based at their offices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the sourcing of chemical materials
  • Maximize value by employing strategic sourcing strategies, including tenders, and tracking reporting of savings achieved
  • Develop and execute fact-based category strategies on a global and regional level in close alignment with stakeholders
  • Define the supplier base and secure capacity, plan, and coordinate implementation (timeline, resources, cost, quality)
  • Manage spend; monitor compliance to category strategies
Requirements:
  • Com/BSc/BTech university degree or NQF equivalent in the relevant field
  • Both commercial and technical education work experience
  • Procurement, Supply Chain, or related qualification with a minimum of 6-8 years procurement management or category management experience
  • Understanding of the Chemical Industry
  • Working experience in international organizations across functions and cultures
  • Supply market and supplier relationship management expertise
  • Understanding of technical and commercial levers
  • Ability to set up supplier contracts
  • Understanding of procurement systems
