Job Title: Risk and Compliance Manager

At Salt Employee Benefits, we are seeking a highly skilled Risk and Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing company-wide risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate company-wide risks applicable to retirement funds and benefit administrators.
  • Develop and implement risk-based compliance plans for Salt EB business units.
  • Provide compliance and regulatory training to all business units.
  • Ensure all business units and employees remain informed of regulatory changes and their obligations.
  • Establish and coordinate the internal risk committee.
  • Provide guidance and support to risk and compliance champions.
  • Resolve issues of non-compliance efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage Business Continuity Management, including the review and update of the Business Continuity Plan.
  • Develop and review Risk and Compliance Manuals for Salt EB.
  • Develop compliance monitoring plans and tools to track compliance.
  • Manage Ethical Compliance, including whistle-blowing mechanisms and staff ethics training.
  • Monitor BBB EE Compliance.
  • Monitor Salt EB's adherence to SLA agreements.
  • Report on legislation, compliance, risks, and plan progress to the Salt EB board and executive management.
  • Manage representatives for Salt EB and the register with FSCA.
  • Manage Moonstone, our compliance provider.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Compliance, Auditing, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years' relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of the financial services sector legislation.
  • Proven track record of delivering process efficiency enhancements.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to retirement funds and benefit administrators.
  • Possess risk assessment capabilities.
  • Display good knowledge and understanding of business operations and IT systems.
Additional Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a high level of judgement, confidence, and decisive approach, effective communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. They will also be able to interact effectively with senior staff, boards of trustees, and stakeholders, and organize, lead, and motivate a team to meet individual and work group goals.
