At Progressive International, we are seeking a highly motivated Chemical Sales Professional to join our team. As a key member of our sales force, you will be responsible for developing trade with the Specialty Food Ingredients/Food Chemicals Market, including Sweeteners, Stabilisers, Vitamins, etc., and Industrial Chemicals.

The successful applicant will have well-developed interpersonal and rapport-building skills, as well as a demonstrated history of customer and sales growth. They will possess an expert knowledge of the food flavor and ingredients industry, strong commercial and negotiation skills, and the ability to identify opportunities for growth within existing clients and develop new business.

In this role, you will effectively collaborate with supply chain professionals and customer service, providing results through deep understanding of customer needs and translating those needs into innovative and sustainable business opportunities. You will deliver against margin objectives, communicate price quotes that attain product line objectives, and work to maximize sustainable growth and margin for prospective customers.

  • Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Business, Food, or related science preferred
  • Minimum 3 years B2B (ingredient sales preferred) customer-facing or sales/service experience

Required qualifications include a diploma or bachelor's degree in a relevant field, as well as a minimum of 3 years of experience in B2B customer-facing or sales/service roles. The ideal candidate will possess project management skills, personal experience calling on major consumer food and beverage companies located in South Africa, and strong people agility.
