Job Title: Junior Software Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Software Developer to join our team at Stonebridge HR Solutions.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to the development of innovative software solutions. As a Junior Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing software applications that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create desktop applications for capturing field data from radar products/prototypes
  • Extract useful metrics from product data logs
  • Design and implement data storage for product testing
  • Support data cleaning, preprocessing, and visualization
  • Provide support for locally developed tools to international product development teams
  • Help development teams find bugs and their root cause by following a methodical approach
  • Contribute to the development culture of the company by creating tools to support quality testing in the development cycle
  • Software testing and quality assurance
  • Troubleshoot software issues
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NQF level 7 (BEng, BTech or Advanced Diploma) in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • 0-3 years experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to solve programming problems with high-quality code
  • Strong skills in languages such as Python, C#, MATLAB or a similar language
  • Ability to design scalable, maintainable and efficient tools that integrate with existing systems
  • A passion for quality, a keen eye for detail, and a methodical approach to testing
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, to operate successfully within a local and international development team
  • Ability to work independently under only general guidance
  • Understanding the needs of end-users and creating intuitive, easy-to-use tools that enhance productivity
Desirable Skills

The following skills and knowledge would be highly advantageous:

  • Skills in documenting tools, creating guides and training to ensure users can effectively leverage the tools developed
  • Version control tools (e.g. Git)
  • Agile (Scrum) software development methodology
