Professional Resources Partners Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environment Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor and maintain health, safety and environmental files and records. Conduct risk assessments and identify risk mitigation measures. Review contractor risk assessments and visit work areas to assess compliance to specifications.
- Health and Safety Improvement: Provide health and safety improvement proposals, proposed corrective actions, required resources and plans for implementation. Follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented and requirements are complied with.
- Investigations and Reporting: Investigate the root cause of health and safety complaints, report results to managers, and coordinate investigations of incidents, accidents, OFI and near misses. Prepare health and safety reports, statistics and presentations.
- Emergency Response and Preparedness: Ensure regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted. Maintain records of such drills and provide recommendations for emergency response improvements. Supervise the regular inspection of firefighting, safety and emergency response equipment and offices.
- Documentation and Training: Assist in developing and implementing emergency response procedures and evacuation plans. Ensure plans are reviewed and updated regularly. Provide detailed audit reports with findings and identify corrective action measures.
- Contractor Management: Monitor contractor performance and work by conducting continuous visits and audits. Compile relevant reports and escalate matters of continuous non-conformance.
- Safe Work Procedures and Protocols: Establish Safe Work Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Work Instructions for tasks as required. Monitor the implementation of these procedures and instructions to determine continuous improvement.
- Legislative Requirements: Ensure accurate registration and record keeping of all legislative requirements. Manage PPE store and PPE issue. Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
- Min of 5 years SHE experience in monitoring and auditing.
- Experience of implementing Health and Safety in a highly technical, complex industrial environment.
- Essential experience managing occupational clinic will be an advantage.
- Exposure to and understanding of implementation of OHSAS 18001 / 14001.
- Well experienced in Company standards and programs requirements to pass on knowledge.
- Proven track record, experience working on MS Office.
- A relevant diploma or equivalent in Health & Safety Management.
- SAMTRAC Certificate or equivalent occupational SHE Training.
- First Aid level 2 Basic Certificate.
- Fire Prevention Certificate.
- Environmental qualification.
Work will be performed in a professional office environment.
Working Hours:Standard working hours will apply, with flexibility to work extended hours when required.
Language:The official language of the company is English.
