Senior Valuation and Risk Analyst

As a key member of our team at Network Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Valuation and Risk Analyst to lead high-profile projects and develop talent within our team. This role requires delivering results-driven solutions to meet stakeholder and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior managers to provide top-tier valuation and risk analysis services to banking and financial clients, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Review and assess market risk techniques and processes for clients, driving business growth and innovation.
  • Support projects on Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) and the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB), contributing to business growth and innovation.
  • Contribute to Liquidity Risk and Counter-party Credit Risk projects, including framework review and implementation, to enhance risk management capabilities.
  • Participate in Derivatives valuation projects using analytical and numerical methods, driving business growth and innovation.
  • Prepare high-quality briefs, analytical notes, and reports sections, communicating complex ideas effectively.
  • Manage client relationships and oversee work program delivery, ensuring timely and budget-friendly results.
  • Coordinate with specialists across the team and firm, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables within agreed timelines and budgets, driving business growth and innovation.
  • Identify and document risks, issues, and conclusions, escalating as needed to ensure business continuity.
  • Contribute to client research on the evolving financial landscape, staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff, developing talent and driving business growth.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantitative Finance, with a Master's in Financial Engineering or Quantitative Finance preferred.
  • FRM or PRM certification advantageous.
Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a prominent South African bank or professional services firm.
  • Strong quantitative and development skills, including Excel, VBA, Python, R, and C++.
  • Proficient in business writing, with a focus on clear and concise communication.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure, driving business growth and innovation.
  • Collaborative team player, with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration.
