Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Analyst to join our team at Nedbank. As a key member of our Credit Risk department, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining best practice models and assessment strategies to facilitate world-class risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a culture of excellence by participating in Nedbank's culture-building initiatives and staff surveys.
  • Research and recommend corporate citizenship initiatives that align with our business strategy.
  • Support corporate responsibility initiatives and participate in forums and committees to drive business outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, models, and systems, and implement effective solutions.
  • Develop differentiated solutions that meet stakeholder and business requirements through analysis and problem-solving.
  • Ensure product and solution design aligns with business specifications and meets stakeholder requirements.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to address queries, extract and analyze data, and provide insights to drive growth.
  • Document and record processes and models to ensure continuity and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide analytical research and insights to stakeholders, and make recommendations to drive business outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with policy and create efficiencies through data analysis and process improvement.
  • Establish understanding of processes by bridging the gap between operational and analytical concepts.
  • Support the achievement of business strategy, objectives, and values by reviewing and aligning systems, processes, and solutions.
  • Improve personal capability and stay up-to-date with industry developments through training and career progression.
  • Enable skilling and corrective action by sharing knowledge and industry trends with the team and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years' experience in Credit Risk or an Analytical environment.
  • Previous Pricing experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
Preferred Qualification
  • At least a B.Degree majoring in Maths, Statistics, IT, or Engineering.
  • Possibly B.Degree in Finance with good problem-solving skills and logic to program/code.
Technical Experience
  • Modelling Techniques and Software.
  • Strong Mathematical and problem-solving ability.
  • SAS and Python.
  • Data Validation.
Technical / Professional Knowledge
