Job Description

The role of Senior IT Auditor is a key position within the Group Internal Audit department at Sanlam. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various types of assurance and consulting reviews with a primary focus on IT and Application Control audits across the Santam Group.

This will involve working in accordance with the annual audit plan approved by Santam's Audit Committee and conducting audits in terms of International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Audit. The ideal candidate will have strong IT skills and be comfortable engaging with IT and IS personnel, as well as being able to discuss concepts related to application and database architectures and infrastructure.

The role also requires someone who can apply our risk-based methodology and lead and manage multiple audit assignments independently. Key responsibilities will include conducting risk and control assessments, developing and executing audit procedures, preparing audit findings and reports, and ensuring that audit work is completed within time and cost budgets.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • A relevant qualification in science, commerce, engineering, technology, information systems, or informatics

  • Solid understanding of traditional business processes and how they interact at an application and database level
  • An advanced understanding of internal audit disciplines, methodologies, and practices
