Tax Manager - Sub Regional

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the tax compliance cycle for southern regional jurisdictions, developing and maintaining tax designs, and providing strategic tax support. This role requires a strong understanding of corporation and international tax law, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain tax designs for Puma Energy's corporate structure, ensuring alignment with global tax strategy and risk assessment.
  • Analyze global tax developments, such as ATAD, MDR, and BEPS, and deliver solutions to support business objectives.
  • Manage end-to-end tax risks, including strategy, structuring, accounting, reporting, compliance, controversy, dispute resolution, transfer pricing, and control framework.
  • Lead the tax compliance cycle for southern regional jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop, implement, and maintain tax reporting tools.
  • Manage tax audits and litigation, negotiating with local authorities as needed.
Requirements:
  • University degree in tax law or fiscal economics.
  • Minimum 7 years relevant work experience in international tax, mainly focused on Africa.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporation and international tax law, transactional tax concepts, and practical applications.
  • Experience in in-house tax departments and/or M&A tax practices.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to provide tax guidance to non-tax professionals.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PPT.
