Sagen Advisory, a reputable Assurance, Accounting and Consulting firm with multiple locations, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team.

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with an accounting qualification, completed SAIPA/SAICA articles, and preferably supervisory experience. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, while also being capable of working independently and taking initiative when necessary.

Our company renders a wide range of services in accordance with our core values and objectives, focusing on small and medium-sized businesses across the Western and Southern Cape region. Our directors are chartered accountants and registered auditors with the Independent Regulatory Board of Auditors.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive working paper files.
  • Fulfill all bookkeeping requirements efficiently.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory reports, including Provisional Tax calculations, VAT returns, EMP201 returns, CIPC annual returns, and Workmen's Compensation Return of Earnings to relevant authorities.
  • Develop a basic understanding of taxation principles.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and respond to their queries effectively.
  • Work remotely occasionally, maintaining productivity and meeting deadlines.
  • Perform high-level accounting tasks, including preparation and review of management accounts.
  • Conduct accounting work related to annual financial statements.
  • Provide ad hoc accounting and tax support.
  • Nurture strong client relationships and interactions.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • AGA(SA) or PA(SA) certification preferred.
  • Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
  • Post-article experience is advantageous.
  • Supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Caseware, Xero, eFiling, Excel, and Word.
  • Availability of personal transportation.
Remuneration
  • R180,000 to R360,000 per annum (negotiable based on experience).
