Job Description:

The role of a Credit Controller within our CEMEA Risk team is pivotal in managing and mitigating credit and settlement risks for a diverse portfolio of clients in the Sub-Saharan African (SSA) region. As a key member of the team, you will be tasked with comprehensive risk assessment, institutional and sovereign risk research, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to support Visa's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Credit Risk Assessment: Monitor and assess credit risks for existing and potential clients, identifying high-risk entities and implementing measures to protect Visa's interests while spotting future market leaders.
  2. Risk Research: Conduct in-depth analysis on institutional and sovereign risks, developing expert knowledge of banking systems and understanding inherent credit and systemic risks.
  3. Client Onboarding: Establish new clients in our internal risk monitoring tool, analyzing volume trends to determine suitable decline or informational alerts.
  4. Stress Situations: Effectively manage stress situations like client failures and outstanding settlement cases.
  5. Reporting and Analysis: Compile and analyze complex datasets, producing informative reports using Excel, graphs, pivot tables, and presentations.
  6. Internal Collaboration: Provide excellent internal customer service, ensuring SLAs are met in a timely manner, and collaborate with diverse areas of Visa, including Business Development, Strategic Partnership, Operations, Licensing, Legal, and Risk Management departments.

This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
