This position involves managing the accounts payable team and ensuring the accuracy of creditor records while forecasting cash flows.

Main Tasks:
  • Manage the accounts payable process, ensuring timely payments and good vendor relationships.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts monthly, including reviewing and signing off on recon statements.
  • Review and approve staff expense claims.
  • Verify payments and review checks before approval by supervisors.
  • Reconcile accounts payable totals and general ledger with other relevant records.
  • Conduct monthly revaluations of foreign creditors and perform recalculation and journal entries.
  • Facilitate timely cash flow forecasts on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Maintain accurate purchase records for VAT submissions and periodic audits.
  • Maintain and store records for internal and external audits as well as annual BBBEE Verification audits.
  • Oversee the cash book function.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of accounts payable-related balance sheet accounts.
  • Review expenses and coding monthly.
  • Maintain checklists and quarterly controls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Accountability:
  • Responsible for managing the accounts payable team and ensuring accurate creditor records.
  • Ensures timely payments and good vendor relationships.
  • Ensures compliance with VAT regulations.
  • Meets financial deadlines.
  • Manages the cash book function.
