Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team in East London. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a leadership role and drive the maintenance of our facilities.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including preventative and reactive maintenance, equipment installation and repair, and health and safety compliance. They will also be expected to manage budgets, lead a team, and work closely with colleagues to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure efficient use of resources and minimize downtime
  • Manage a team of maintenance personnel, providing guidance, support, and training as needed
  • Oversee the planning and execution of maintenance tasks, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory levels, and budget tracking
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to address them
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices
Requirements
  • Matric qualification (NSC)
  • Advanced relevant technical qualification
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, plant equipment, and carpentry
  • Strong understanding of health and safety principles and practices
  • Proven ability to lead a team, manage budgets, and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Salary and Benefits

This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary package, including a base salary of R250,000 per annum, plus benefits such as medical aid, life insurance, and retirement fund contributions.
