Emporium Human Capital is seeking an experienced Operations Director for our mining operations in Fourways.

As the Operations Director, you will oversee and implement safety protocols to ensure the safety of all workers in the mine, managing and monitoring daily mining operations to achieve production targets while maintaining quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 certificate, Mine Overseer Certificate of Competence, Blasting Certificate of Competence, and at least 8 years' experience as a shift supervisor/miner in the mining industry, with 3 years' experience as a Mine Overseer.

A Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering is advantageous, and a valid driver's license (Code B/EB) is required.

The Operations Director will supervise and provide direction to mining staff, including miners, technicians, and other personnel, ensuring that all mining equipment is maintained in good working condition.

The role also involves ensuring that all mining operations comply with relevant laws and regulations, managing the budget for mining operations, controlling costs, and reporting on financial performance.

Additionally, the Operations Director will lead investigations into any accidents or incidents that occur in the mine, preparing and submitting regular reports on mining activities, production levels, and safety incidents.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing emergency response plans, coordinating emergency drills and training, and identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing new technologies or methods.
