Key Responsibilities:

  • LMS Configuration and Administration: Configure, administer, maintain, update, and document the Moodle LMS environment.
  • Performance Optimization: Supervise the security, performance, and faulty tolerance of the Moodle LMS environment.
  • Business Partnership: Partner with business areas utilizing Moodle/LMS.
  • Feature Development: Consult with instructional designers, business, and other users of the LMS environment to support the integration and development of features and customizations for the LMS application.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with related vendors and host providers, enforcing SLA and support expectations.
  • User Support: Respond to inquiries and requests from users for Moodle-related assistance as escalated through the support process.
  • Policy Development: Develop an all-encompassing policy on Moodle, including access rights, and identifying roles on Moodle.
  • User Management: Assign, grant, and approve roles and responsibilities of users.
  • Educational Technology Integration: Integrate educational technologies to improve teaching and learning.
  • Documentation: Document the Moodle LMS environment and plug-ins.
  • Site Administration: Set up and change key features of the learner management platform, including the site's front page, mobile app, messaging, notifications, location, language.
  • Plugin and Upgrade Management: Arrange for plugins and upgrades: install plugins and upgrade the Moodle site as directed by IT.
  • Ongoing Support: Provide ongoing support across the business.
  • User Inquiries: Respond to user inquiries and requests for assistance.
  • Reporting: Create and assist programme heads to generate management reports across projects.
  • Best Practices: Provide best practice expertise to content owners, developer of programmes to ensure continuous improvement of learning material and how users access content.
  • Training Workshops: Develop roles and duties and present training workshops for content owners to use Moodle.
  • Course Content Development: Collaborate with each functional owner to develop and import course content, update content, build engaging pre and post assessments for content and create learner dashboards to track progress and leaders.
  • Online Training Module Design: Design online training modules where required.
  • Badges and Competency Frameworks: Adding and managing badges, creating competency frameworks, and learning plan templates.
  • IT Training Initiatives: Assist, develop, and implement IT training initiatives.


Requirements:

  • Education: Matric
  • Certifications: Moodle Educator Certification, Moodle Partner Certification
  • Experience: 3 or more years of experience with administration, development, and customization of a LMS in a business or educational environment.
  • Skills: Experience with other LMS platforms, understanding of e-learning standards (e.g., SCORM, xAPI), knowledge of cloud-based Moodle hosting solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure), demonstrated experience with different Moodle hosting solutions and knowledge of relevant security requirements, demonstrated experience with data management and query building.


Salary: R 650000 - R 800000 per annum.
