Key Responsibilities- Crop Insurance Management: Develop end-to-end crop insurance management processes and procedures to ensure efficient claims handling and optimal crop damage assessment.
- Claims Assessment: Assess, validate, and quantify major crop claims, providing detailed reports to management to inform decision-making.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with the underwriting, actuarial, and sales teams to analyze claims loss ratios by commodity type and drive improvements.
- Geolocated Claims Data: Maintain geolocated claims data and utilize GIS tools to control claims exposure.
- Climate Change Management: Lead the development of regional and commodity-level climate change management strategies, staying up-to-date with international best practices.
- Industry Engagement: Participate in industry climate change initiatives and build a repository of knowledge on climate change impacts on agricultural insurance.
- Premium Discounting: Develop frameworks for premium discounting and rebates based on farmers' adaptation of climate-smart agriculture.
- Staff Training: Train relevant staff on products, processes, and claims, ensuring they are competent and equipped to handle complex crop insurance scenarios.
- Learning Material Development: Create engaging learning materials, including workshops and training programs, to support staff development.
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Agriculture or Plant Production
- Experience: 8 years of experience in crop insurance, with a strong background in insurance principles and practices.
- Competencies: Advanced Microsoft Office skills, knowledge of insurance products and services, and understanding of financial planning activities.
