About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Strategist to join our team at Focus Kamoso (Pty) Ltd. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving our financial performance and making strategic decisions that impact the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Analyse financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations to senior management.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Manage cash flow and ensure proper allocation of funds to drive business growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions and other stakeholders to secure funding opportunities.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting to inform business strategy.
  • Ensure tax planning and compliance, overseeing the preparation of financial statements and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support for decision-making.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure our financial practices are current and effective.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree/diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field is essential.
  • Relevant professional certification is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in finance, with at least 2 years in a similar leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead a medium-sized team of around 10 people.
  • Experience in construction and property finance is highly advantageous.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
