Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Rehabilitation Assistant to work with our Occupational Therapist in planning and implementing activities that promote physical and emotional well-being among our residents. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging programs, conducting assessments, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you should possess strong communication skills, empathy, and patience. A background in social sciences or geriatrics is advantageous, but not required. Proficiency in basic computer applications and manual handling techniques is also essential. If you are enthusiastic, reliable, and willing to learn, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement group and individual activities as set out in a weekly program under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
  • Maintain resident engagement and ensure their needs and preferences are considered.
  • Spend quality time with residents to learn about their hobbies, interests, and personal histories.
  • Assist with planning and organizing special events, such as themed days.
  • Accompany residents on scenic drives and outings, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Support the Occupational Therapist in completing assessments and evaluations.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of attendance, care provided, and resident-related concerns.
  • Complete weekly and daily reports detailing activities and outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to the occupational therapist prior to MDT meetings.
