A fourth-generation family business, which owns and manages a private group of award-winning, luxury safari lodges and boutique hotels, set within some of Southern Africa’s finest locations.
Full accounting function including preparation of management accounts.
- Attending monthly financial review meetings.
- Review financial reports before distribution to management.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations including the Cashbook.
- Review Intercompany accounts and loan reconciliations.
- Review monthly stock levels and attend periodic stock counts.
- Review fixed asset registers.
- Review Debtors and ensure payments are collected on time.
- Oversee group creditors’ function.
- Provide technical accounting support to Property General Managers.
- Provide assistance to the Group Financial Manager in the preparation of Consolidations and Annual Financial Statements.
- Credit card analysis (commission, daily banking)
- Food and Beverage (F&B) costing supervision and review.
- Implementation of changes in the accounting system, giving sound financial advice, with a view to maintaining internal controls and controlling F&B
expenditure.
- Ensure that all payments are timeously approved and made.
- Ensure all payroll related payments for the group are timeously made.
- Ensuring proper cash management through monitoring of balances across all entities including foreign currency & Petty cash.
- Prepare a schedule of weekly expenses and submit to the Group Financial Manager/CEO for approval and release.
- Compile budget templates to be sent out to all properties/departments during the budgeting process.
- Assisting the Group Financial Manager in coordinating the budgeting process.
- Prepare budgets for the Support Office and lodges/hotels.
- Evaluating and managing risk.
- Assisting the external Auditors & Group Financial Manager on completing a successful annual audit.
- Preparing and submitting VAT201, EMP201 returns on e-Filing.
- Providing payroll support
- Ensure that all statutory payments, inclusive of VAT, PAYE, Levies, etc. are made and ensure adherence to relevant legislation.
- Ensure that all weekly and month end counts for the whole property are processed as per SOP on stock takes and make sure that all classes of inventory
are fairly valued there are no material errors.
- Banking - ensure various authorisation tiers are in place and checked from time to time.
- Management of Financial team.
**Qualifications**:
- BCom/BTech Accounting
- Completed Articles (Preferable)
**Skills**:
- Minimum 3 years experience as Financial Controller/Financial Manager
- Advanced Multi-Currency experience
- Must have managed a Finance Team
- Advanced Excel
- **HOSPITALITY or TRAVEL Experience Essential**
**Salary / Package**:
