**Head of Marketing - luxury safari lodges**

Our Client is an award-winning collection of luxury lodges and camps (which they own) located in Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The camps are carefully positioned in untamed and pristine parts of Southern Africa - expect authenticity, adventure and exploration as well as all the comforts fit for the modern traveller. Their Head Office is based in CAPE TOWN.

They are looking for a Head of Marketing who will be responsible for brand strategy and custodianship, development of all creative elements, the deployment of marketing activities via varied channels, as well as measurement and evaluation of all activities, which in turn would shape the strategy and future creative and/or deployment decisions.

The objective of this role is to continue to shape their iconic brand and to drive awareness, consideration and conversion. A key output of the role would be brand execution that celebrates the brands and all that they stand for. Also of paramount importance, would be ensuring presence and visibility across channels/mediums that matter most. Online presence is a key factor within the marketing mix, with an active focus on lead generation within the appropriate markets and target audiences with a view to driving the revenue.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Brand custodianship that celebrates the brands and all that they stand for.
- Oversight of the creation and curation of engaging content/material for all channels. This will require the channelling of the energy and efforts of internal teams and external agencies to deliver such content and materials, in line with the brand identity and to the required standard.
- Plan and manage budgets for all marketing/digital activities, ensuring efficient use of resources and delivery of the required levels of ROI.
- Ongoing analysis (in real time) of data and insights to inform decision making and optimise campaigns.
- Leadership and development of a team of marketing specialists, providing strategic leadership and setting clear objectives, driving high performance and providing ongoing feedback and direction. This will include the ensuring an integrated approach across specialist groups/individuals including design, PR, Internal Communication.
- Alignment with senior leadership and the Board on the compilation of a marketing dashboard which clearly shows key performance indicators, as well as targeted and actual performance for each of the agreed metrics.
- Ongoing reporting to senior leadership and the Board on performance and progress against objectives and set KPI’s. This should include the monitoring of competitor activity, locally and internationally, with the appropriate benchmarking in place.

**What will make you successful in this role?**
- 10+ years in leadership roles that encompass brand custodianship and digital marketing strategy and execution.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful (quantified) digital marketing campaigns.
- Proven track record leading a team of marketing professionals/specialists, underpinned by a high-performance culture, integrity and accountability.
- Strong data orientation and analytical skills which are applied to ensure campaign optimisation and a relentless drive to deliver the best possible ROI.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Strong brand passion and infectious energy to mobilise people (internally and externally) to support the brand and campaigns.
- Experience in the tourism sector would be beneficial but not essential.

This role is hybrid, offering the flexibility of remote work combined with the collaborative environment of our Cape Town office.

**Salary**: From R65 000,00 per month
