Kendrick Recruitment are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Travel Consultant to join our team. As a Junior Travel Consultant, you will assist in creating and organizing travel itineraries for guests, ensuring an exceptional travel experience. You will collaborate with experienced consultants and provide excellent customer service while gaining valuable knowledge and skills in the travel industry.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications required:

- Grade 12 Certificate.
- 1 years’ experience in a reservations position or 2 years’ in a reception position at a reputable operator.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Basic Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel, Microsoft 360 proficient.
- Experience at operator level of a Property Management System - Opera and Tourplan advantageous.
- Outstanding telephone etiquette.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Able to work flexible hours, weekends and public holidays,
- Excellent Southern Africa product knowledge.

Advantageous experience and desired qualifications:

- Diploma in Hotel Management.
- Exposure to Opera advantageous.
- Exposure to Wetu / Safari Portal
- Dedication to quality and good service - Customer centric.
- Can-do-attitude. Able to make decisions, think critically and problem solve with good emotional intelligence.
- Collaborative team player.
- Research and self-learning ability.
- Good organization skills - ale to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Smart presentation and grooming.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Selling skills - qualify customer needs and provide accurate and prompt communication.

- Owning and living the company’s service standards every day in interpersonal encounters whether with guests or colleagues.
- Ensuring that you are familiar with and adhere to the Hotel’s code of conduct.

- Working together with your manager and team to be as effective and productive as possible by accepting constructive feedback and embracing all training and development opportunities made available.
- To actively seize opportunities to minimize our carbon footprint without compromising the guest service standards.

To ensure that guests receive an exceptional guest experience that goes beyond their expectations within the guidelines of the company’s standards by:

- Ensuring harmonious relationships exist with other departments, suppliers and international sales managers by maintaining clear and prompt communications between all parties; and ensuring that all correspondence with clients reflects the professionalism of the company standard and enhances the relationships with key suppliers.
- Maximising revenue generating opportunities, whilst enhancing the guest experience in accordance with the company’s standards.
- Ensuring that reservations are made and updated accurately, efficiently and comprehensively.
- Ensuring that all reservations related administration and reporting is completed timeously.
- Consult clients on Company’s products and services in a professional and polite manner.
- Provide regular feedback and delivering on commitments.
- Managing client travel files and provide accurate quotes, bookings and supplier correspondence in Tourplan / Wetu / Safari Portal in line with the company’s SOP’s.
- Create digital diaries in line with the operations document processes.
- Generate accurate invoices and manage financial tour summaries.
- Accurately invoice bookings within prescribed deadlines and manage tour financial summaries.
- Maintain positive booking / service profits by managing costs and avoidance of errors.
- Maintain a consistently high standard of service and communication with both internal colleagues and external customers.
- Development and maintenance of product and destination knowledge, company systems and understanding of company policies and procedures and how your role affects the business chain.
- Ongoing personal development in communication, problem-solving, client management, emotional intelligence and working with different people.

Salary and Benefits:

- Salary Offering: R13 000.00 - R15 000.00
- Benefits include: 50% Medical Aid contribution and 50% Pension Fund Contribution.
