**Bursar - **Job Description:
The Bursar of Holy Cross High School plays a crucial role in managing the financial affairs of the school. This position involves overseeing various financial aspects, ensuring the school's fiscal health, and supporting its educational mission. The Bursar is responsible for financial planning, budget management, and compliance with accounting standards. This role involves working closely with school administration, staff, and external stakeholders to maintain financial stability and transparency.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop, monitor, and execute the school's budget, including revenue and expenditure forecasting.
- Manage financial records and accounts, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial information.
- Ensure prudent financial practices and compliance with relevant financial regulations.
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and analyses for school leadership and the board of trustees.
- Maintain general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Handle payroll processing and associated tax matters
- Manage school funds, investments, and cash flow to optimize returns while maintaining liquidity.
- Administer scholarships, grants, and financial aid programs in coordination with the financial aid office.
- Oversee purchasing processes to secure cost-effective resources and supplies.

- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and service providers.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure accurate financial statements and compliance with audit requirements.
- Stay current with financial regulations and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
- Contribute to the development of long-term financial strategies to support the school's growth and sustainability.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to school leadership.
- Build positive relationships with parents, donors, and funding agencies to secure financial support and maintain transparency.

**Requirements**:

- Tertiary accounting/Bookkeeping qualifications would be to your advantage.
- Several years of financial management experience, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
- Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles, regulations, and practices.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
