Enrolled Nurse

We require the services of an enrolled nurse to assist in the delivery of competent quality nursing care, including medication administration under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The applicant must be available to be on call at night. The position is resident.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

The Enrolled Nurse is responsible and accountable for tasks including, but not limited to:

- Assists the Registered Nurse with coordinating resident care including resident assessment, care planning and care evaluation.
- Implements resident care according to individual resident care plans and documented Policies and Procedures.
- Assists the Registered Nurse with reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions.
- As delegated and supervised by a Registered Nurse administers medication upon the written instruction of a medical practitioner.
- Assists the Registered Nurse with quality improvement, clinical monitoring and auditing processes - including the management of falls, wounds, continence and medication.
- In the absence of the Registered Nurse consults with General Practitioner and other allied health professionals as required.
- Assists and supports the Care Worker to complete allocated tasks on a shift by shift basis.
- Supervises attendance registers and submits records to Homeleigh Nursing Agency.
- Maintains effective communication with the Registered Nurse and Care Worker.
- Participates in continuing professional development.
- Develops and maintains a professional rapport with residents, providing feedback to the Registered Nurse.

**Key Performance Requirements**:
The applicant should:

- Be currently registered as an enrolled nurse at South Africa Nursing Council (SANC).
- Have experience in an aged care/rehabilitation setting.
- Be competent in CPR.
- Have basic computer skills.
- ** Have a driver’s **license.**

Desirable:

- Have further education in aged care.
- Be experienced in keeping computerized documentation.
- Previous experience in a sub-acute facility will be advantageous.
- Proof of immunity against Hepatitis B virus (HBV) means of an official result issued by a reputable laboratory, which is not older than 6 months and thereafter every three years.
