**Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to**:

- Preparing special quotes
- Understanding the Product and Business specifications and extracting test requirements. Reviewing test requirements with the test manager and business analyst.
- Designing test cases and test scenarios based on analysis of product and business specifications.
- Providing reliable estimates for completing test cases and execution. Working closely with the test manager and systems analysts to co-ordinate test activities and in so doing, ensure quality end results are achieved.
- Ensuring adequate functional testing is done for all new development.
- Ensuring that all values are tested and verified as correct, and that accuracy is maintained after each launch or product enhancement.
- Performing functional, negative, positive and regression testing.
- Logging, tracking and resolution of defects on JIRA.

**Education and Experience**

**Essential**:

- Matric
- Mathematics on higher grade (minimum C symbol pass)
- English as a first language on higher grade (minimum D symbol pass)
- At least 1 year working experience in the Life Insurance industry.

**Advantageous**:

- 1- 3 years working experience as a tester in the Life Insurance and/or Financial Services Industry

**Technical Skills and Knowledge**

**Essential**:

- Intermediate proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel

**Advantageous**:

- Experience with regression, sanity and functional testing methods
- Discovery Life product knowledge
- Experience using JIRA
- Exposure to automated testing
