**Introduction**

**Role Purpose**

The above-mentioned position is currently available in the Momentum Corporate Technical Underwriting department at our Momentum Employee Benefits division/business unit, based at the Head Office in Bellville

**Requirements**:

- Qualification in the Health Sciences or equivalent and
- At least 5 Years experience as a medical underwriter
- Understanding and knowledge of the Group Insurance Industry.

**Additional requirements**:

- Role requires travelling to Clients, code B license and own vehicle required
- Appreciation of future trends within Employee Benefits.
- Knowledge of current legislation relevant to the industry.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Develop effective relationships and liaise with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including 3rd parties, members, and service providers.
- Underwriting of standard and impaired lives and ensure risks are mitigated and escalated accordingly. Provide input into the risk identification processes and communicate recommendations in the appropriate forum by:

- Contributing to continuous innovation through the development, sharing and implementation of new ideas.
- Creating, planning, executing projects according to deadlines and project specifications.
- Maintaining project progress and providing status updates.
- Conducting research and analysis to support project.
- Identify opportunities to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.
- Drive and support effective teamwork within the department.
- Engage in appropriate training interventions to promote own professional development.
- Ensure to demonstrate the company's values daily.
- Participate and contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback, and provides exceptional client service.
- Adhere to organizational and departmental best practice, service levels and legislative requirements.
- Ensure effective underwriting service delivery and support.
- Perform an efficient and accurate administrative function.
