1. ACCOUNTABILITY:
This mainly includes the following:

- Lead the development of the organization's IT strategy by conducting comprehensive assessments of current IT systems, identifying gaps and areas for improvement, and aligning technology initiatives with the overall business goals.
- Collaborate closely with the Copper Africa CFO to understand the financial objectives of the organization and develop IT strategies that support cost optimization, revenue growth, and operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on emerging technology trends, industry best practices, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decision-making and ensure the organization remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
- Drive the implementation of IT strategies and initiatives by working closely with cross-functional teams, including to ensure effective alignment and successful execution.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of IT systems and infrastructure to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, making recommendations for enhancements and efficiency gains.

2. KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

- Collaborate closely with the Copper Africa CFO to align IT strategy with financial goals and objectives.
- Work closely with the Copper Africa Regional Lead and Regional Leadership Team to understand business requirements and ensure IT solutions meet their needs.
- Engage with the Copper Africa Regional team and Asset Teams to gather feedback and align IT initiatives with operational needs.

3. QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven track record with at least 10 years of experience in IT management, including leading teams and developing IT strategies.

Competencies:

- Possess strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and security.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal departments and external partners.
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and resources.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards for IT operations in the region.
- Ability to stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of IT professionals.
- Proficient computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Agile and adaptable, capable of quickly adjusting to changing priorities and dynamics.

Work Experience:

- Minimum of 10 to 15 years of relevant post-article experience, preferably in the mining/natural resource industry.
- Extensive prior involvement in support services functions.
- Prior experience with SAP and COUPA is beneficial.

4. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
IT Strategy Development:

- Lead the development and implementation of the organization's IT strategy aligned with the overall business objectives and vision.
- Conduct comprehensive technology assessments and identify opportunities to leverage IT as a competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define strategic IT initiatives, and develop implementation roadmaps.
- Present IT strategy proposals to the Copper Africa CFO and Regional Leadership Team, highlighting the potential business impact and return on investment.

IT Operations Management:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization's IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring their stability, availability, and performance.
- Implement ITIL best practices and establish efficient IT service management processes, including incident management, problem management, change management, and service desk operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive measures to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure the timely delivery of IT services.
- Collaborate with IT teams to manage and prioritize system enhancement requests, ensuring alignment with business objectives and resource availability.
