- Data Risk Analyst**Job Purpose**
- The Data Risk Analyst provides a comprehensive range of Data Risk Management services to the Group, cluster Risk and DMO functions, as well as providing oversight as a 2nd Line of Defence (LoD) Risk function.**Responsibilities**:

- Input into the data risk (incl. data governance) strategy, providing support, facilitating and coordinating the relevant activities within Nedbank.
- Contribute to the development of an independent view of the Business Data Risk Profile as well as other monitoring tools to enable Data Risk Managers to:

- Identify existing risks themes and/or trends that indicate emerging data risks;
- Analyse data and form an independent assessment/opinion of data risks and;
- Drive for decisions regarding the management of the data risks.
- Partner with enterprise data teams across the 1st & 2A (LoD) business partners, providing advice and guidance to align strategies & corresponding capabilities to ensure a consistent, best in class data risk management capability.
- Effectively challenge the 1st LoD business partners, 2nd LoD advisors (Compliance, Legal & Risk) and 3rd LoD (Auditors) on data risk matters.
- Undertakes an independent validation of the health of the data in the organisation, including data quality, adherence to data governance standards, the embedment of data processes and DMO capacitation towards Data Risk Co-ordinated Assurance Thematic.
- Provide oversight and guidance during risk assessments, and partner with the business to develop appropriate controls and effectiveness testing.
- Provide thought leadership and guidance to business and supporting functions in implementing data risk management practices.
- Demonstrate the business value in Data Risk Management to all levels of the organization.
- Stay current on the changing technology landscape, data ecosystem, industry initiatives and regulatory environment in order to understand the impacts to the business.
- Participate in risk & data management forums, contribute to continuous improvement of risk and data management practices.
- Essential Qualifications - NQF Level- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
- Preferred Qualification- Tertiary qualification in any of the related fields (Commerce, Business Management, Sciences, Engineering)
- Minimum Experience Level- The position requires above average verbal and written communication skills, customer liaison skills, the ability to work independently and leverage networks and the ability to rally people to a common cause.
- 3 to 5 years of risk management, data governance or data management experience, with 5 years of progressive leadership experience
- Preferred:

- Experience in Financial Institutions
- Experience in Risk Management with focus on Data/Technology Risk and Data Life Cycle management
