**Requirements**:

- Relevant Trade test or Technical/Professional qualification.
- Computer Literacy (SAP; PM Maintenance) and associated

program’s
- 5 years’ experience in a supervisory technical position

required.
- Knowledge of handling Hazardous Chemicals and maintenance

of equipment.
- A valid Driver’s licence a must and own reliable transport will

be advantageous
- Required to work in all weather conditions; work outside normal

working hours; standby duties; during emergencies and

structured and planned overtime.

Key Performance Areas
- Manages the daily water releases from the dam through the

operation of control valves in accordance to dam

water levels.
- Monitors the functionality and performance of the spillway

gate control instrumentation.
- Implements the Flood Management Protocol in the event of

flood releases in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
- Implements the Emergency Management Protocol in the event

of catastrophic failure of the dam or unplanned gate

openings in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
- Manages tasks/ activities associated with the implementation

of procedures and, monitoring and reporting on sequences /

outcomes
- Inspecting facilities and surroundings and arranging for

defects and/ or maintenance requirements to be attended

to approving and/ or verifying adjustments or amendments

to operating, administrative and/ or reporting sequences/

practices at the Depot.
- Managing the effective execution of maintenance of the

functional area including fleet, plant and equipment,

building and ground maintenance and repairs and tender

specifications.
