ORIENTATION & MOBILITY MARKETING COORDINATOR

This role will support the Head of Marketing (HOD) primarily through development and implementation of a marketing plan to raise the profile of the SA Guide-Dogs Association
Orientation and Mobility Department (O&M) amongst key external audiences. The incumbent must have fantastic communications skills, excellent time management and be detail oriented.

Core Job Details:

- Working alongside and assisting HOD with all Marketing Activities.
- Liaison between the Marketing Department and the O&M Department

**Responsibilities**:
1. Strategy and Planning: o Assist HOD in development and planning of O&M marketing strategies. o Stay informed of market, industry and fundraising trends

3. Content Management: o Create and produce content for social media, media, newsletters, Friend in

Harness and website for O&M - this includes but not limited to: Taking photos/videos during training sessions of clients using their skills, following up with Practitioners to get up-to-date photos and stories, taking photos and videos at events and activations.

4. Relationships and partner with key media players o Attend meetings and presentations with HOD so as to form relationships with key partners. o Build and maintain good relationships with relevant media, venues, malls and suppliers o Assist in maintaining current media contact lists o Contribute towards media stories to promote campaigns and activities o Represent the Association at regional events and national when required

5. Tracking and Reporting: o Putting together budget spreadsheets o Compile and maintain the O&M marketing calendar o Track event results and draft reports to support HOD o Maintain up-to-date records of campaign performance

**Experience**:

- Experience in content development and creative writing
- Eventing and face-to-face marketing experience together with the potential and attitude required to learn
- Strong organisation and planning experience
- Exceptional time management
- Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practice in effective charity marketing
Skills & Qualifications:

- At least four years in a similar role - Marketing Administration or Assistant.
- Strong administrative skills and highly organised.
- Strong people skills.
- Confident in speaking on the phone, face to face at various events / activations and to media.
- Confident Public Speaker - must be happy to give school talks.
- Valid driver’s license essential
- Speak, read and write English, Zulu/Xhosa/Ndebele/Sotho/Venda
Aptitude:

- Self-Motivated, Enthusiastic and Energetic.
- A team player

- Must be able to take instruction well and want to learn within the role.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Committed to helping people who are visually impaired, physically disabled or children on the low end of the autism spectrum.
- Able to relate with disabled people and people of all ages
- Comfortable interacting with dogs including, but not limited to, looking after dogs in office, taking a dog to talks, schools, events, film/photo shoots etc.
Working Relationships and Hours:

- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekend when required
- This role is permanently based in the Johannesburg office
- Establish good relationships with staff, puppy-raisers, clients and media
- Interact with high-value individual members and donors
- Assist at events: setting up stands and carrying of equipment etc.
- Drivers license and own transport essential
