ABOUT THE ROLE**:
As the Technical Quality Specialist at HyperionDev you will be responsible for ensuring quality and coordination of Mentors and Code Reviews (Synchronous and Asynchronous) and the Lecturing team with a focus on providing high quality lectures. Development of mentors and the lecturing team will also be a priority to ensure team growth.

To excel in this role you should be comfortable to take charge in a technical environment working with junior to senior code reviewers and lecturers, have good attention to detail, be able to work in a disruptive environment and be able to assist in the performance improvement of others.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Onboarding and training of Coding Mentors and Lecturing staff
- Assisting with the technical screening and hiring of Academic Staff
- Be able functionally manage priorities within a given area within Education Operations (Delivery) as is allocated by the Head of Education Operations. This can include a focus on CoGrammar, Lecturing, Mentorship or Quality control
- Plan, implement and maintain the upskilling schedule with the lecturing team and mentors
- Assist with the maintenance of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), analyse the data, and be able to point out where we can optimise or improve
- Assist with capacity management and planning of Academic Staff within relevant functional area/s
- Perform quality inspections on work completed by Academic Staff
- Provide backup support for our partners and students as necessary
- Provide Learning Design with technical (SME) support as required
- Investigate incidents and student complaints that arise, and manage the resolution of these
- Provide the Plagiarism Team with support in the handling of plagiarism instances
- Flag any underperforming coding mentors and lecturing staff with the Head of Education Operations and assist with performance improvement intervention exercises
- Identify training needs for Academic Staff and implement training to fill this gap

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**_Minimum_**:

- Matric qualification
- 3+ years' of solid experience in coding/software development with a focus on:

- Python
- Java
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- SQL
- React
- Node
- Express
- MongoDB
- Version Control Systems
- Data Science
- 1+ years' of experience in working with Web APIs or with Machine Learning
- 1+ years' experience reviewing code or in a quality assurance-type position overseeing testing/quality of code or software
- 1+ years' of project management experience
- Interest in gaining experience in the coding education and ed-tech space
- Fast learner with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience managing large budgets, hiring and firing, and defining company culture and processes at scale
- Excellent leadership skills
- Excellent project management skills
- A problem-solving and positive attitude
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Start-up mentality and the desire to see HyperionDev and CoGrammar succeed
- An interest in the future of developer education, assessments, tooling and online learning
