we are looking to place a General Artisan with our client based in Pinetown.

Minimum Requirements:

- Qualified Millwright will be highly advantageous.
- Be in possession of a N3-N4 Fitter/Millwright Trade Certificate
- Grade 12 / Matric
- 4 years General Engineering experience in Mechanical with about 2 of those years in **engineering maintenance.**:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Chemical Industry **will be preferred**.
- Electrical/Mechanical problem solving will be advantageous.

**Key Performance Areas**:
**Maintenance Planning**:

- Receive maintenance schedules, interpret instructions and plan maintenance and repair work.
- Inspect tooling and determine spares and consumables requirements.
- Generate job requisitions for scheduled maintenance work.
- Ensure compliance with national and standard legal requirements.

**Maintenance Process (Breakdown)**:

- Attend to machine breakdowns of a mechanical/electrical nature for all equipment under engineering functional control.
- Provide regular updates on the progress of repairs to the responsible person.
- Escalate problems to the next level if resolution cannot be achieved/resolved successfully.
- Capture all relevant information related to the breakdown to aid in determining the root cause.

**Mechanical Maintenance**:

- Maintain all mechanical equipment in the Plant.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Align machines and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults on equipment and machinery during production / operation and report defects to management.
- Commission and refurbish machines/equipment.
- Perform basic welding of plastic and metal equipment when so required.
- Maintain accurate records of tooling repairs, adjustments, and maintenance activities as per standard operating procedures.
- Raise problems and concerns to the Manager/ Supervisor promptly.
- Train staff on standard operating procedures and equipment use.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to health, safety and environmental protocols and regulations while working with tools and equipment.
- Promptly report any health, safety and environmental hazards or incidents.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure regular housekeeping in the work area.
- Assist with putting up signage and fabricating frames.
- Carry out any reasonable instructions as and when required.
