**Introduction**
Our Manufacturing Client, based in Durban is looking for an R&D/Quality Manager to join their team. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Head of Operations.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Compliance to: Act 101 of 1965; Pharmacy Act 53 of 1973, GMP/PIC/WHO guidelines; OSH Act, The Foodstuff, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act 54 of 1972.
- Manage the product development process as per product life cycle and marketing brief.
- Conduct product shelf-life testing, product efficiency testing, user tests.
- Generate product specifications, specifications for key raw materials and packaging materials
- Generate manufacturing processes and validate infrastructure requirements.
- Supervise continuous product testing/ analysis as per product specifications.
- Contribute to cost management projects which includes raw materials, packaging materials and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct Q-Cert audits at third party manufacturers.
- Conduct Vendor Audits and assessments.
- Handle out-of-specifications and product/ material deviations.
- Handle consumer complaints.
- Resolve non-conformances and implemente CAPA.
- Performance of Quality Product Reviews and Trends analysis.
- Lead and manage the team to meet quality objectives.
- Perform Risk Management Activities.
- Assist with laboratory equipment acquisitions.
**Desired Experience & Qualification**
- BTech, BSC or NDip in Cosmetic Sciences or Chemistry.
- At least 4 years working experience in product development and quality assurance in pharmaceutical or personal care.
- At least 2 years experience managing a team.
- Working knowledge of ISO and GMP.
- Knowledge of the healthcare sector.
- Experience with non-conformance and CAPA.
