Job Description: Bookkeeper

Our client is looking for someone to fill the role as Bookkeeper and handle Reception as well.

A bookkeeper is a financial professional who is responsible for recording and maintaining a company's financial transactions, such as sales, expenses, invoices, and payments. They also check accounting records for accuracy, balance the books and bank statements, and generate financial reports. They may also track cash flow, file documents for tax compliance, and assist managers in taking strategic decisions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assists the Senior Accounting Manager in performing all Accounts Payable functions.
- Inputs Accounts Payable data into the accounting system after all approvals have been made.
- Record financial transactions. Bookkeepers record all financial transactions of a business including its expenses, sales, and all cash flow.
- Manage bank feeds, Ensure the information in financial records matches with the bank and income statements of a business.
- Manage payroll. Bookkeepers are also responsible for payroll management as they oversee the tax and other deductions of employee salaries.
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable. They often monitor and handle accounts receivable and accounts payable of a business.
- Prepare financial reports and statements. Bookkeepers prepare financial statements and reports for different accounting periods.
- Assist with tax filing. They may assist accountants in the preparation and filing of taxes of the company.
- Organise accounting tasks. Organise and streamline accounting tasks through various software and tools.
- Reconciliation of accounts

**Requirements**:

- Education: High school degree.
- Accounting terms, principles and processes
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or any other relevant field
- Three years of working experience in bookkeeping or any related field
- Background of working with business tools, income tax worksheets and computations
- Hands-on experience in data entry, computing software and record keeping.
- Specialized Training: Bookkeeping courses.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Word processing software
- Accounting (payables, receivables, general ledger, billing) software
- Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks.
- Ability to calculate accurately.
- Excellent customer service
- Negotiation skills
- Attention to detail.
- Proficient in the English language
- Ability to work under pressure.

**Salary**: From R4,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Pretoria, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- High School (matric) (preferred)
