To provide complex specialist advice and support in practice formulation and associated best practice improvement tactics; enabling the provision of specialist risk product expertise.

**Job Description**:
Impairment and Capital Portfolio Analytics
- Review of collections performance, systems impacts and key metrics
- Drive the understanding and monitoring of monthly movements in the balance sheet and income statement provisions
- Ensure portfolio is within acceptable provision adequacy levels, including income statement and balance sheet provisions.
- Play a critical role in portfolio monitoring, management and reporting
- Analyze and report on any underlying reasons for changes and shifts on the portfolio

Strategic value adding Projects
- Use understanding of regulatory frameworks to inform business strategy and decisions
- Drive retail projects where issues span across products
- Initiative portfolio analytics to aid strategic business decision making
- Provide in-depth data analysis, trends, reporting to provide meaningful insights to be used in day-to-day decision-making processes

Forecasting
- Perform regular forecasting for impairments and capital including intra-month forecasting as well as RAF, STP and MTP forecasting
- Actively take part in Stress Testing exercise by reviewing and challenging model outputs.

Model and data Validation/ Review
- Challenge models to be best in class.
- Identify, analyze and drive issues with modeling and implementation teams
- Develop an understanding of data and make recommendations to resolve data integrity issues
- Contribute to model governance process, data management and integrity
- Validate performance of the existing IFRS9 models and recommend changes or enhancements where applicable

Stakeholder Management
- Initiate engagements with various stakeholders for a review of collections metrics, portfolio performance and forecasting
- Constantly challenge established thinking and facilitate improvements in systems and processes
- Key partner in risk appetite and stress testing output
- Report on material issues in the portfolio to senior stakeholders
- Ad-hoc project work for various stakeholders as required

Governance
- Ensure that policy and governance is maintained across products
- Ensure external audit requirements are met

Team
- Develop Team members in line with their career objectives
- Develop extended team through knowledge sharing and other means

Key Competencies
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills
- Ability to translate complex data outputs into clear and understandable insights for use by business users as well to provide guidance to team members

- Excellent planning, organising and executing skills

Knowledge and experience
- Experience and working knowledge of PD, EAD, LGD, ECL models
- Vast knowledge of default models
- Knowledge and understanding of portfolio credit risk monitoring, valuation and management
- Relating and networking
- Persuading and influencing
- Presenting and communicating information
- 3 to 5 years working experience in credit risk environment or a similar role in financial services
- SAS experience will be an advantage

Qualification

Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Sciences, Finance, Mathematics, Econometrics, Engineering, Statistics (Masters and Honors degree will be an advantage)

Bachelor's Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Risk Management and Financial Risk Management (required)
