**Job Purpose**
- The
- **Learning and Development Specialist** manages the delivery of strategic projects and learning programmes across Discovery People Group function, ensuring that the objectives and business requirements are met. Includes the design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of solutions. Mapping and working closely with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of learning programme and projects. Understanding and communicating all aspects of rollout including risks and mitigation plans with relevant stakeholders. Has the accountability to ensure that goals and objectives are achieved within the overall scope and that deliverables are within the agreed time frame, cost and as per defined and expected quality. Acts as an evangelist of the discipline
The Learning and Development specialist must have practical experience of having been a project manager for large and complex initiatives. Responsible for planning and governance and for overseeing a successful delivery of the programmes output/product.
- **Key Outcomes may include but are not limited to**:

- Design and delivery of learning programmes and projects for Discovery People, ensuring that the objectives and business requirements are met.
- Working with internal and external partners and other business units.
- Effectively communicating to various stakeholders including immediate team.
- Identifying value adding opportunities through various engagements with business.
- Design and delivery of learning programmes across business and partner with the Skills Development Team to continuously measure impact and ROI.
- Working closely with Branding and Marketing to ensure compliance with branding guidelines.
- Ensuring a clear understanding of the scope of work before planning delivery
- Managing and coordinating the kick-off meeting where all main stakeholders are identified and provide input to the scope, objectives, and approach.
- Brainstorming projects and come up with an effective project scope to meet the requirements of the stakeholders.
- Developing a delivery plan by looking at the design, work breakdown structure, identifying outputs, understanding dependencies, and putting timelines to the various activities.
- Working with the learning and development coordination team, manage their delivery and to ensure that their delivery is of the expected quality and completed within the timelines allocated.

- Work with internal teams and external contractors and Vendors.; Both internal and external individuals that the job incumbent establishes relationships with, encounters or renders services to on a regular basis. Include working groups, professional memberships, committees, or boards that the staff member belongs to.**Decisions**:

- Involving the correct stakeholders
- Make decisions related to project roadmap and timelines
- Assign RAG statuses and communicate to relevant parties
- Escalation of any concerns or risks

**Person Details**

**Work Experience**
- At least 5 - 7 years’ experience in learning and leadership design and delivery of learning solutions and projects in a corporate environment.

**Preferred
